Kent,
Faye, Trevor, Amber and Cameron
Kent has lived his entire life on the land that was
homesteaded by his great grandparents, Abraham and Rebecca Smith.
Growing up on the ranch, he learned and experienced first-hand, valuable life lessons from some of the best in the business...his
Granddad Ira, his Father George, plus all the neighboring ranchers that
shared help throughout the years.
Kent and Faye were married in 1976 and have been ranching and expanding
their operation ever
since. They have two children, Trevor and
Cameron.
Trevor
is 29
and graduated from the Ranch Management Program at TCU in
Fort Worth, Texas. After taking a few courses to complete his
studies at UNL he worked on The Home Ranch near Clark, Colorado as a Wrangler.
He is now home helping on the family ranch. Amber McDonough has become
a welcome addition to our family. Trevor and Amber have wedding plans
for 2008. Amber works in Atkinson, Nebraska at
the Good Samaritan Home as the activity director. She also helps out on the ranch on weekends.
Cameron is 14 and enjoys the ranching life. He
loves baby calves, riding horses, halter breaking his 4-H calves, and helping his Dad and big brother.

"BEGINNING
OF SMITH ANGUS" |
In 1988 Kent and Faye were fortunate to acquire the entire
herd of K Plus registered Angus cows.
Since that time they have concentrated
on maximizing performance and securing
an efficient, fertile, and maternally strong
cow herd. They believe that the cow herd is the foundation of any successful
operation.
The Smiths have hosted an Annual Bull Sale the past
18 years!

"YOUR
BRAND FOR PERFORMANCE" |
The Smiths' goals are to be "Your Brand For Performance"
and to produce top quality seed stock for the
commercial cattle industry. They are constantly striving to put together a package of sound,
balanced genetic traits in their
Angus cattle. There are more tools now than
ever to select and breed cattle...EPDs, $Values, ultra sound, and
carcass testing. However, the Smiths still believe
that they have to provide their valued
customers with cattle from proven sires. Sires that have a moderate
birth weight, with high performance. Cattle that are structurally
correct, have good dispositions and carcass values. Sires that leave
little to chance. Their breeding program is centered around achieving
a maternal cow herd...cows that calve easily, breed back, and raise big
calves without a lot of fuss and extra feed. The Smiths know that
when these goals are achieved-----the bulls for the sale will follow! We
want to be "YOUR BRAND FOR PERFORMANCE" |
|

|
"CUSTOMER
SATISFACTION"
|
|
In addition to their breeding program goals,
the Smiths know and
appreciate the fact that their
future success depends on satisfying some pretty
important people...THEIR CUSTOMERS! Customer satisfaction, real genetic
value, and on going relationships are what they are striving for.
Their bulls are 100% guaranteed through
the first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90-day period
following the first turnout of the bulls. They must be notified on or
before September 1, 2008. If a replacement bull is needed and
available he will be provided to service your cows. If a replacement
bull is not available you will receive full credit toward the purchase of
another bull at the following year's bull sale. Salvage value of the
injured bull belongs to Smith Angus. Kent and Faye want you to be
satisfied. If any bull does not perform to your expectations, they will
try their best to make it right with you.
The
sale is never over until our customers are satisfied...you have our
word on it!
