We lost our electricity for several days right before Christmas, but thank goodness the temperatures were not extremely cold. We got our generator up and working and stayed fairly comfortable. And in spite of all the inconvenience we managed to have a great Christmas celebration with our family. |

November's weather has been unseasonably warm! We are finished AIing on the fall cows and are now turning our attention to the sale bulls. Thanksgiving was spent at home with our family and as always we have much to be thankful for! |

Cameron at the new fish pond |
October has been filled with fall brandings, getting cattle home from summer pasture, preg checking, and trucking cows to corn stalks. The weather has been a little chilly, but pleasant. |

The past few days have given us cooler weather and even a little more rain. The grass is greener now than it was all spring! The pasture in front of Kent and Faye's house is full of baby bulls who are always squeezing into the next pen with the horses. They are very curious about what goes on at the house, from mowing grass and passing vehicles to the howling of the golden lab Sugar. They have started to settle down though and seem happy to sleep or eat out of the feeders. |

We have a new face on the property! This is Trevor's new Palomino horse which he bought at the Hancock Foundation Sale in Ogallala, NE. His name is still undecided but with only 30 days under saddle, he seems to be a kind and willing prospect. |

Cameron showed his heifer and horses at the BKR Horse show, Stuart Sandhills Cattle Show, and at the Rock County Fair. He did very well, winning Champion Jr. Showmanship, in both horse and heifer classes. We weaned spring calves on August 10th and 11th. It seems pretty early, but we are really running out of grass over west. We sold the last of the yearling heifers we had down south on the 16th. We have gotten some much needed moisture this month. Things are finally starting to green up again. It is still fairly hot and humid, but things are looking much better!
